Sweetgrass Animal Hospital

After a horrible experiences at another animal hospital in Summerville, I was recommended to see Dr. Askins—and I’m so grateful I did. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted. The office was clean, fresh, and we were promptly taken back. Savannah was kind, attentive, and took the time to listen to our pet’s history (and even gave treats!). Dr. Askins came in prepared, listened carefully, and was honest about what was truly best for our pets. I really appreciated that they didn’t try to upsell unnecessary services. Sadly, on Monday we had to say goodbye to our older Yorkie. Dr. Askins was incredibly compassionate, gentle, and supportive during such a difficult time.🌈🐾 I highly recommend this office to anyone in the Summerville area over any other place in town. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Can't recommend Sweetgrass Animal Hospital enough! We started taking our hound mix here as soon as we adopted him almost 4 years ago. The care has always been phenomenal! Our dog has had many health issues and the Sweetgrass team has always handled our baby with the highest level of care and professionalism. Everyone from the front desk staff to the vets are absolutely amazing! It's always a pleasure to visit the office. They are always very considerate and try to work with you as much as they can, whether it is to fit you into the schedule or to pick up a last-minute prescription, they are always great! They provide the level of care all pet parents dream of. Would recommend without hesitation.

Megan was extremely helpful in helping me find an appointment time that worked with my schedule. She made sure all pricing questions were answered and was overall very kind! The staff here are incredible, the facility is clean, and the took great care of my dog Eris! My only complaint is the pricing for medication. Eris needed antibiotics and I was expecting to spend around $30-$40. Her antibiotics were $81. The price of her medication was more than her exam alone. I checked online out of curiosity and found the medication a lot cheaper.

Friendly staff who genuinely care about your pets. The team provides great care in a timely manner, and the costs are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

This is our 4th pup to join the Sweetgrass family (the cream mini dachshund). All our dogs had the best care and love from not only Dr. Askins, but his staff too. Two of our beloved dogs passed away in the last year, and we were met with so much compassion and kindness, as we went through the grieving process. It’s obvious that they take a lot of pride in caring for animals and it doesn’t go unnoticed. 🫶🏼
