I ordered steak Mexican which is ribeye cooked with jalapeños, tomatoes, and onions. It was very tasty, the jalapeños were not too hot. I also ordered Mexican potatoes which were also very good. He asked how I wanted my steak cooked and I said medium rare. The steak was sliced very thin so I don't think how it was cooked was an issue at all. My wife ordered chili Verde. She said it was very good. The atmosphere was pleasant. The waiter was very attentive. The only complaint I has was the table was sticky when we sat down. We mentioned it and they quickly came and wiped it down. Overall, I will come back. The food was very good.

Had a very disappointing experience the other night. Brought my family here after my daughter's little kindergarten graduation ceremony and wow this place was a nightmare that pretty much ruined our whole evening. Once our waiter took our order we pretty much had to go track her down ourselves, suffice to say that we never got our sinks refilled. Then there was the issue with the food... They brought out my wife's and kids food but mine never showed up. No worries I can wait a few extra minutes, but after about 10-15 minutes I tracked down the waitress who was very upset that I even asked her anything and disturbed her sitting on her phone, just hang her go back and bring out a plate of pretty much uncooked peppers and could beans. Mind you I got the steak ranchero such left me wondering where my actual food was. When I asked I got a snippy response saying the rest will be out shortly... Far forward another 15 minutes and still hasn't showed up and everyone is done eating so we ask for the check and havev them remove my meal since it never showed up. They did try to hand me a togo bag with what looked like stirfried cat food in it but I politely left it and walked away. I'm guessing the whole experience was really fun and funny for them and I can't help but think this was racially motivated since I'm a white guy with a Hispanic wife and kids. Just stay away from this place and hopefully it'll close.

I stopped in to Azul Mexicano Restaurant for dinner around 7 PM on a Monday. I appreciated that they were open and not overly busy, which made for a relaxed visit. Since I was dining solo, I grabbed a seat at the bar. I ordered a spicy margarita and was served a jalapeño margarita to fit the bill. The flavor itself was fine, but there was zero heat—no spice at all. The menu is very extensive, but nothing in particular stood out or felt especially distinctive. For food, I went with the steak fajitas. It’s a pretty safe order—simple, and usually hard to mess up if the seasoning and execution are right. Unfortunately, this is where the experience really fell apart. The fajitas arrived with no sizzle whatsoever. The onions and green bell peppers were completely raw and seemed like they’d only been briefly warmed in a pan. It was also pretty obvious the steak had been cooked earlier and reheated rather than prepared fresh. I could have overlooked some of that if the sides had been solid, but the black beans were under-seasoned and cold, and the rice was barely warm—basically room temperature. Overall, it was a disappointing meal. The service was fine and the atmosphere was quiet, but the food quality and execution just didn’t hit the mark, especially for something as straightforward as fajitas.

This was a beautiful restaurant. Our server was great. The chips and salsa need major improvement. They were terrible. The actual food was good it could use some tweaks to make it more authentic, as soon as I saw nacho cheese on the menu I knew they were going to be questionable and presentation could be better. I would go again. Because the service and atmosphere were great.
