Azul Mexicano

I stopped in to Azul Mexicano Restaurant for dinner around 7 PM on a Monday. I appreciated that they were open and not overly busy, which made for a relaxed visit. Since I was dining solo, I grabbed a seat at the bar. I ordered a spicy margarita and was served a jalapeño margarita to fit the bill. The flavor itself was fine, but there was zero heat—no spice at all. The menu is very extensive, but nothing in particular stood out or felt especially distinctive. For food, I went with the steak fajitas. It’s a pretty safe order—simple, and usually hard to mess up if the seasoning and execution are right. Unfortunately, this is where the experience really fell apart. The fajitas arrived with no sizzle whatsoever. The onions and green bell peppers were completely raw and seemed like they’d only been briefly warmed in a pan. It was also pretty obvious the steak had been cooked earlier and reheated rather than prepared fresh. I could have overlooked some of that if the sides had been solid, but the black beans were under-seasoned and cold, and the rice was barely warm—basically room temperature. Overall, it was a disappointing meal. The service was fine and the atmosphere was quiet, but the food quality and execution just didn’t hit the mark, especially for something as straightforward as fajitas.

This was a beautiful restaurant. Our server was great. The chips and salsa need major improvement. They were terrible. The actual food was good it could use some tweaks to make it more authentic, as soon as I saw nacho cheese on the menu I knew they were going to be questionable and presentation could be better. I would go again. Because the service and atmosphere were great.

Muy delicioso y aún mejor servicio. Very delicious and even better service. Everyone is so attentive, polite, and eager to help each other. Food was very good and came out really fast. If I were to be disappointed at all it would be the chips, salsa, and cheese dip. Skip the cheese dip and get the Texas Cheese Dip instead. You get a lot more and it’s so much better. Loaded with meat and very tasty. Ladies loved their margaritas (peach and mango frozen). They don’t skimp on the tequila and it wasn’t a cheap tequila either. Great Job and we’ll definitely be returning for another round!

Good Mexican food.....my oldest lives here now and on our visit we wanted something simple and pretty fast after we arrived and this was his recommendation.....he visits frequently and I can see why......very good atmosphere, clean and organized also....I'd recommend this place and we'll be back on our next visit

I’ve been here a couple of times for lunch since my friend likes it. Every time service is slow and staff is inattentive. This time the waitress got an attitude when I stopped her to ask if she was going to take our order as she was walking by after us sitting about fifteen minutes after our drinks during the lunch hour. And only one other table was there, the place was empty .. My refried beans were bland and burnt. Food was otherwise ok. But who wants to go to a restaurant and be treated that way. Normally they are just slow but this time the rudeness on top of it was too much. The food isn’t mind blowing and they treat you like crap. Go elsewhere
