avid hotel Summerville by IHG

My cousin and I stayed at your hotel for 7 days. We were there for my uncle's funeral services. We were very impressed with everything and everyone we came in contact with. The bed was unbelievably comfortable and the pillows were phenomenal. We thoroughly enjoyed the daily breakfast, especially the omelets and fried potatoes. The staff was wonderful, going above and beyond every time. Thank you and I will recommend your hotel to others.

I really wanted to like this hotel. It looked very modern, clean, and was reasonably priced, etc. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the staff was amazing from the moment I walked in. I had just driven 8 hours to see my mom, who recently had to be put in a nursing facility. 1. The AC vibration was absolutely horrible. You couldn't hear yourself talking. I did mention this, but was told, it was because it was a smaller room (I call bologna). Staying on the Vegas strip was quieter! 2. The shower had hair on the wall and the flooring is so slick, I was afraid I was going to slip and fall while in it. 3. I went to use the hair dryer, it had hair all wrapped around it, stuck on and in it, and in the bag. Disgusting. 4. The refrigerator was not working at all. I put a few Cokes in it when arriving, they were still warm the following morning. 5. Breakfast was ice cold. Not even room temperature. This included rubbery eggs. When going downstairs the following morning, I did bring all this to the desk clerk's attention. She was apologetic and said while we were gone, everything would be taken care of. I saw her write it down. I heard her tell housekeeping. I returned 6 hours later and went upstairs to my room. Nothing had been touched. Same hot refrigerator, same nasty hair dryer, same loud AC. It sounded like airplanes landing at an airport. I will be coming to Summerville every 3 months, but I will stay elsewhere.

I wrote note on my oh, my reservation that I needed a late checkout because my daughter was having 6 hrs of testing done at MUSC. After i confirmed my reservation online. I called the hotel that I would be staying at and confirmed with the receptionist that a late checkout of 2 PM would be no problem. When I arrived on the day of check in, I reminded the checkin clerk that I had confirmed a late checkout due to my daughter having a procedure at M USC the next day and she immediately said, oh no, we can't do that. She said, what time did you discuss? I said two o'clock, she said, oh no I said, what about one o'clock?She said, no, you gotta be gone by twelve. i decided not to argue with her, so we had to completely revamp our transportation plans. I had to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning with 2 small children and drive my daugther to drop her off at MUSC. That was an hour round-trip back to the hotel. Then, make sure me and the little ones were ready to go by 12 then I had to drive to back to MUSC. luckily, I was able to find a parking spot just outside of the hospital, but the lil ones could not sit in our car for 2 hours. Waiting on my daughter to be done. So we got out of the vehicle. Mind you, it's 96° in Charleston, and I'm sitting out in a Courtyard, shaded, with a 6 month old and a six-year-old for 2 hours, waiting on my daughter's procedure to be completed. The fact that this hotel did not honor my late checkout of 2 PM per my discussion with the hotel receptionist on the day of me making my reservation. It was really disheartening, and it made a huge impact on our day and the extra stress. It added to me and my daughter and the kids. Hopefully, we won't ever have to come back for more testing at MUSC but if we do, we will not be staying at this hotel.

Only issue I had was check-in was at 4pm not 3pm like the website states. I got there at 2pm trying to check-, in early but had to wait a hour later at 4pm. The building needs more art, to make it picture /social media friendly. The staff was friendly and helpful. My first time staying at an Eco-friendly hotel. Great location.

Sheets, comforter, and pillows were unchanged prior to checkin. Visible use and pubic hair present on sheets. Blood smeared on bathroom door. Footprint on pillowcase. Took 7 hours to get fresh sheets. We had to change the sheets ourselves. Also had roughly 10 kids playing basketball and baseball in the parking lot hitting the cars. Management did nothing.
