Taco Boy Summerville

I have eaten here twice now since moving to Summerville. A lovely atmosphere, delicious food and great customer service! We will be back!

Food was terrific. Loved the Baja soft taco. Shrimp were perfect. Service friendly and pointed out the lunch special which with both got. Rice and black beans worthy oh a mention. Patio covered but light comes through. Decoration. Is festive.

I’m a longtime Taco Boy fan and have made it a point to visit every time I came to Charleston. We recently moved here, and I was so excited to finally have a Taco Boy in our new hometown. This past weekend we had family visiting Folly Beach, and we ate at Taco Boy (at Folly Beach) for lunch on Saturday. We loved it so much that we went back that evening for drinks to watch the World Cup game. On Sunday, after we were back in Summerville, our family requested Taco Boy again because they had enjoyed it so much the day before. We stopped by around 5pm on Sunday to place a carryout order. The restaurant was mostly empty, and the host/server who took our order was very friendly. We had a few simple modifications to our tacos (no slaw, sauce on the side, etc.), nothing complicated. Our food came out quickly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, when we got back to the car, we realized our chips and guacamole were missing. We drove back, and they apologized and quickly handed us a bag. We assumed the guacamole was inside with the chips since that's what had been left out. After driving 20 minutes home, we unpacked everything only to discover the bag contained chips, but still no guacamole. It was really disappointing that it was forgotten not just once, but twice. To make matters worse, the chips were extremely stale, so we didn't end up eating them anyway. Our tacos themselves tasted good, but several of the requested modifications weren't followed, and the sides of rice had hard clumps throughout. We're disappointed because we love Taco Boy and were looking forward to becoming regulars now that we live here. Everyone has an off day, and this experience won't keep us from coming back, but we hope our next visit is much more in line with the great experiences we've had over the years.

I’m not sure why this place has such a low rating. My experience was really good and the server was very sweet!

This place has amazing happy hour deals. Their mini nachos are super delicious! The food is made to perfection. Everyone is super friendly here. It’s a clean place to eat too.
