Holiday Inn Express & Suites Summerville by IHG

Upon check in we discovered that there were crumbs and debris on the floor of our room. After going to the front desk asking if there was a vacuum I could use, the person at the desk informed me that there was no cleaners on site at this time and that the vacuums were locked up. Thankfully he was able to get us into a different room that did not have these issues. The gym was pretty basic with some dumbbells going up to 50lb and some treadmill and elliptical machines. The breakfast was excellent, eggs, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal it was all great and the staff kept it well stocked. Very satisfied with my stay. The street in this area gets extremely busy, it would probably be best if you stayed on the same side of the highway as whatever business brought you to the area.

Labor day weekend 97 degrees, check in the room and the AC not working. Kool got that taking care of, got back to the room about 4hrs later ready to shower and relax. Warm water only no hot water, toilet seat broke, and only 1 outlet would work to charge our phones. This room was 250 for 1 night, never again would I waste my time and money with hotel again.

I want to give a special thank you to Tiffany for being so kind and helpful during a stressful situation. My boyfriend’s car was unfortunately hit in a hit-and-run while we were asleep, and Tiffany walked us through the process of contacting the police department and reassured us not to fret. Although she wasn’t familiar with the camera system since it is normally handled by management, she was persistent and did everything she could to help Berkeley County PD get the footage. We truly appreciate her compassion, patience, and willingness to go above and beyond for us! SHOUTOUT TO TIFFANY :)

​This hotel has gone downhill fast. We used to enjoy staying here, but the rooms are now filthy and the pool is questionable at best. They overbooked our reservation, shoved us into the wrong room, and refused to offer a refund for the error. Definitely not the "newer, nice" hotel it used to be. Book elsewhere!

The lady who worked the counter Saturday 4/18/26, for one, she was out front SMOKING in front of customers, along with her friend. There were five people in line before she decided it was time to do her job. Two, she was not wearing a uniform and looked like a complete slob, dirty clothes, hair was a mess. The most unprofessional we’ve ever seen. She then had nothing but attitude with every customer. She argued with a customer because you guys cancelled his room for no reason. She then slips up and tells them that they needed his room for someone else. What’s the point in booking online then?! We felt so bad for that poor gentleman. By the time she got to us, she was in such a bad mood she was rude when we asked any questions. When we asked to speak to a manager, she said there wasn’t one. The breakfast food was also picked through by the time we got there and when we asked if any fresh was being put out, we were told no, we get what we get. Experience here was just awful.
