We dined in the regular dining area. We both ordered the ribeye, shrimp, and teriyaki chicken trio from the hibachi menu. We also had the shrimp goyza as an appetizer. The regular dining area was quiet and softly lit. As someone who prefers quiet dining I appreciated this. The waitress was very polite and willing to answer any questions we had. Our food was delivered quickly but with enough time between items to enjoy them. Would definitely recommend the shrimp goyza appetizer. It was wonderful. The salad that comes with the entree was a little heavy on the dressing and was fairly plain being just lettuce and a single cucumber slice. The soup was also very plain being a broth with a smattering of green onion and 2 thin slices of mushroom. Regardless I thoroughly enjoyed it. The hibachi dish was presented beautifully. The zucchini was cooked perfect. I enjoyed the shrimp the most but all items were delicious. I would definitely recommend.

What a great night thanks to our chef Flo! He was amazing. What a treat to have him cook for us. He has so much passion for his job. Such a nice and clean restaurant. Large portions of food for value. I had the teriyaki chicken & TWO HUGE portions of rice. My husband had shrimp & scallops and daughter had egg rolls and all were done nice.

My family enjoys dining at Yokoso in Summerville, SC. The food and service are always good. Special shoutout to Emily our waitress and Chandler who was our chef most recently. He was funny, entertaining and prepared our food exactly the way we ordered it. Highly recommend the specialty sushi “Volcano Roll”. It was delicious!

Last night we went to Yokoso for a birthday dinner for our now 6-year-old. We made a waitlist reservation, and all was well. We were seated at 5:30 pm, no problem for seven people, two separate checks. I specifically called prior to the dinner to ask if they had a freezer and were able to keep an ice cream cake in the freezer. I was told yes. The evening started out with the waitress being very flat and quiet, which made it hard to order, and our drinks were constantly empty. Everything we asked about was met with a "that is an extra charge". When we got the Hibachi clear soup, it had no mushrooms, which was weird, but we continued. After "soup and salad," it was nearly 1 hour before the chef came to the table (one hour from sitting down to the time it took for him to come to our table and cook). Again, we took it as it came and continued. The chef was good, no issue there. The food, which many of us ordered steak, was extremely fatty and not what I would expect at all. The entire hibachi cooking was probably 45 minutes if that which brings us to about 7:15pm-ish and we were waiting for our waitress to come back, so we could do the cake we brought at this point, at about 7:35 they drums came out and we did the celebration dance, and then we did had the cake. Our "ICE CREAM" cake was melting away, so I am not sure if the cake was placed in the fridge or freezer, but we endured. We quickly cut the cake for the party, and knowing we still hadn't received the check or to-go boxes, I asked another employee if they could put the cake back into the freezer until we left. We had to flag the waitress down for the checks and to go boxes again, and in all, we left at close to 8:30, which is absolutely unacceptable. That is nearly 3 hours, most of which we were unattended and left hanging for drinks or assistance. I am going to put a picture in the comments. The candles melted down into the cake, and the cake melted into the box; that is not okay, especially when I specifically called about whether it could be accommodated. During the 3 hours we were there, we were with a 6-year-old, and in that time, we visited the restroom at least 3 times. The first time, the bathroom had a stall out of order.. Okay, no big deal, but then only one of the two working stalls had toilet paper. I let the front desk staff know there was no toilet paper in one of the stalls. The second two times over that time period, there was STILL NO toilet paper brought to the bathroom. On the last visit to the bathroom, there were two other mothers with daughters who happened to all go in at the same time, all of us from different tables, and come to find out, they had also ALL informed staff about the lack of toilet paper, and yet, nothing was done. However, I did see someone bringing a roll when we were finally walking out of the bathroom (So they had some, they just hadn't decided it was worth filling in the 3 hours they knew about it). We have visited this place at minimum twice a year for the last 4 years since moving down here as our kids love "the cook in front of you place", but I can certainly say, we will never visit this place again, and will ensure we tell others about the horrible experience.
