Belk

This was an awful shopping experience. There was no staff on any registers except for two ladies in cosmetics. The store was an average of 90° and would be my guest and when I finally got to the register at the jewelry counter, there were no apologies or any signs of concern that I had sweat dripping and had been waiting for about 40 minutes to check out. Unacceptable. Last visit to this belt go ahead put the sign up close the doors.

This was my first time ever in this location and I will NOT be back or recommend anyone to come here EVER. I’m assuming she was possibly a manager by the way she handled herself, it was a youngish short white lady with brown curly hair put up in a bun. She was absolutely rude in a way that was completely uncalled for. I myself am a store manager at local retail establishment and I would have never in my career have spoken to someone the way she spoke to us. I am currently pregnant and was struggling to put on a dress that I was considering for my baby shower and she came through the fitting room door way with the most rude tone fussing at us cause he was trying to help me zip up a dress and fix the straps as if to insinuate we were up to no good and/or that my husband was a potential creep. We were not in the fitting room alone with the door closed or anything. The door was completely open and he was standing at the door to my dressing room just trying to help me get it on right. I didn’t even bother trying on the rest of the items I had selected, I just walked right out because I will not allow my husband or myself to be spoken to in such a disrespectful manner. She should be reprimanded and/or retrained on the proper way to speak to customers and how to handle potentially awkward scenarios because she was absolutely ignorant on how to do so appropriately.

Belk is a good place to shop but their prices are a bit on the high side. Men's dress shirts cost $65, and just across the rd there is a Kohls, they have mens dress shirts for $40 and below, but those have been removed from their packaging and put on hangers just so they could charge more. Anyway, Belk was a bit on the messy side as well, as far as the Men's department goes. I had to scumbags through the disarray of the piles of men's shirts. The sizes were all mixed up along with the brands. The Woman's department is much nicer because all of the Woman's clothes are on hangers, neatly in order. Shopping there is just OK. I remember the days 5 years or later when everything was nearly perfect and in their proper place. Those days are long gone. My mother used to work at Belk in the 80's and Belk was considered a high fashion clothing and makeup store. Those days are long gone. Sad!

Stopped by to get a wedding outfit. Ms Betty in the mens section measured me and helped me and my wife pick out a great outfit to go with a coat we chose. She was super helpful and patient and made the whole ordeal a great experience.

Likeany other reviews state, this store is an absolute disaster with clothing and merchandise scattered about. They advertise all kinds of sales and coupons on the app, but the rude cashier's will try to blackmail you into signing up for their credit card in order to use them. The coupon said nothing about requiring a Belk card. I'm assuming they are paid to sell credit cards bc she tried again to get me to sign up and even laughed when I said no. Hopefully, the store will be closed soon, as there were maybe four people in the entire store and the employees obviously don't care about anything.
