Wow! Real, delicious, homestyle Thai & Laotian food, presented beautifully. The dining room is classy & elegant, however the atmosphere isn’t heavy or formal at all. It’s fun, full of life and is very comforting. Forget downtown Charleston; if you’re looking for a truly memorable dining experience, this is the place to be. We ordered Ba Mee Moo Dang and Boat Noodle Soup, they did not disappoint! Also, don’t let the photos deceive you; the portions are very large & make for a great value. The Ba Mee Moo Dang really stood out for me. The pork was extremely tender, juicy and had a delicious bbq flavor. The broth was slightly sweet as described, and paired deliciously with the fresh green onions & cilantro. My only complaint; the dumplings were slightly cool in the center. It’s hard to go wrong with Boat Noodle Soup, but Aroy D still went above and beyond. The flavor was on par with similar restaurants, but the quality of the beef was much, much better. It’s tender, succulent & melts in your mouth. Very high quality ingredients. Our first visit was so enjoyable that we actually came back again the next day for dinner, we had the Boat Noodle Soup and Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was absolutely delicious, but I did feel like it needed just a bit more of everything. The portion size is perfect, but it could use some more chicken, peanuts, scallions & bean sprouts, It felt a little more noodle heavy than I’d like. The spice levels are very accurate to authentic Thai food, that was the most pleasant surprise I’ve had in a very long time. Most Thai restaurants lower the heat level in their dishes to be better suited for American palates, Aroy D does not, and I absolutely love that. When I eat Thai food I want the real experience and the real heat! But be warned, the heat level “Thai spicy” really is Thai spicy! Service was outstanding. Our servers were extremely polite and made the experience have a home like and comfortable feeling. Nothing was rushed, everything was perfect. We can’t wait to continue with their menu and find out what more they have to offer, and I’m especially excited to try some of the Laotian dishes. Overall, my feelings are unanimous; I absolutely love this place. If you’re looking for the best Thai food in the low country, go to Aroy D!

We’ve now eaten at A-Roy 4 times. Every time it gets better if that is even possible! I absolutely love the Pad Thai! It is the best I’ve had in years….and I’ve tried it in many different places. We love that they also have a Laotian menu. My husband especially likes the Larb. Today we also had the KaProw and the Satay. All winners. We each got two items so we would have leftovers! If you are looking for great Thai (and Laotian food) for a good vale I suggest you get in your car and head over right now. The restaurant is very clean and our service from V was perfect! Will return again and again!

The food was amazing! So much that we went 2 days in a row and brought my parents with us the 2nd time, they loved it as well! Our daughter loves their pho, said it was PHO-nominal! The atmosphere is super cute as well!

Excellent food and excellent service! The Pad Thai, Garlic Chicken and the Som Tam were wonderful, asked for medium heat and it was perfect! Finished off with Taro Pearls in Coconut Cream. What a great end to a fantastic meal!

Best Thai restaurant in South Carolina. The food is authentic as it gets. The service is amazing. Great options including many Lao dishes you wont find in any other Thai restaurant. A MUST visit. I’m a foodie and world traveler so I know what I’m talking about here.
