Great store. Make sure you price check the psa website before stopping in, just to get an idea. The prices are about the same, if not lower. The pistol slide assembly selection is superb and you might find a good deal. I can understand some of the reviews on here, but after visiting the store I can assure you its just user error. They have a process and that’s about it. Definitely stop by if you are passing through.

Was sooo excited today when I walked up to the counter and saw they finally instituted the "take a number" for service!!! Have been asking for this for years and it's finally here...I love it and thank you Palmetto for finally doing it! Always a pleasure shopping here and now just so much better with the this system in place.

So went here Sunday to buy a few firearms. Confirmed sku numbers, and that they were on sale online. Went to the registers, one of them full price no sales despite the sku was same as online and in store, AND the website said in stock In store. The other one, same sku, online and in store sell price honored. The sale price was $130 difference, I decided to take the rifle, seeing others stating they offered a 30 day low price guarantee (price drops w/in 30 days of purchase they would refund up to $100). So I emailed PSA customer service, and they said online purchases only. Lesson learned, if you go to PSA, expect long wait times at the counter, then to not honor their prices, and their customer service not to give a damn about you. I enjoyed PSA, don’t get me wrong, probably dropped whole pay checks there time to time. After this time. Even though $130, it’s the principle, I might not return. Edit: Customer service and I were in contact, they told me to come back and ask for a honor price request. I came in today, and the manager was nice. I explained what happened. It took a little of time, but did get the price honor. They refunded the price to what it should have been. Lesson learned, that if it doesn’t ring up what the online price is, if it’s in stock to request th manager to get it fixed. Not a great experience but definitely lived up to their price honors.

I went in yesterday 4/15 wanting to purchase a firearm. While at the counter a sales attendent was talking to a gentleman at the counter within earshot of where I was standing. The gentleman was telling the employee about his 40 cal weapon and how much ammo he had for it, also that he was considering "taking out" his reloading equipment for his 9mm due to rising costs. Not once did he ask for real assistance, all while I was right beside them looking at guns in the showcase. The entire time I was there, the employee never acknowledged I was there nor offer to help me. He just stood there listening to the gentleman ramble on. This is not the first time i had this type experience in the Summerville store. I finally got frusterated and reported my experience to the manager on duty pointing out the sales person in question. I know that will not help nor the fact that I will never purchase from them again. PSA is not going to miss one customer, but if i can save others from the frusteration of being ignored when trying to do business with them, that will help. I will continue to use their range as it is the most convienient one to my house and the people at the range know how to treat and respect paying customers. DO BETTER PALMETTO STATE ARMORY

I went into PSA-Summerville yesterday during my daughter’s basketball practice. I am a gun owner, but I was interested in getting a handgun. I’m cheap and on the list of priority purchases for my life, buying a handgun for a hobby is way down the list behind paying the bills and funding college for my five kids. After 5-10 minutes of browsing an employee helps me out. I told him I had been shooting a friends .22 revolver and found that kinda fun. He asked me what price range I was looking in and I told him the $200 range. He said that the .22s would be my best option to stay in that range. Then he asked if I was looking for self defense at all. I laughed and said no, and that I wasn’t looking for that at all, just for hobby. He said, “well, what’s your life worth to you?” I laughed again cause he was clearly trying to upsell me. I said (while laughing), “I’m not worried about that or defending myself if someone’s coming at me, I’m good, I’m always ready to meet Jesus” He starts helping another costumer. I go down to the .22 handguns and start really zeroing on my best options. A few minutes later another gentleman helps me and takes 3 of them out and walks me through the difference in the three. He lets me take a picture of one of the tags (you can’t take a picture of the gun itself) cause I tell him I need to talk it through with my wife. I ask him if it would help the purchasing process to go ahead and run a background check so I get that knocked out of the way and expedite the purchase if I came back in later that week. He said yes, took my license and went in the back. I started browsing in the aisle beside the counter just looking at the different gun parts. While I’m browsing, a female police officer comes up to me and asks if I’m buying a gun. I tell her that I’m doing the background check but not sure if I’m actually getting anything that day. Then she asks me if I had been talking about dying earlier. I was legit confused thinking she was confusing me with someone else. Then she asked me if I made a comment about “being ready to meet Jesus”. What I didn’t notice was 2 male police officers walk up behind me while we were talking. So there I am, trapped in an aisle being questioned on whether I am suicidal or angry. I ask them if the store manager told her the context to why I said that. They had conveniently left that part out when they called the police on me. I asked them what the right answer is in a gun shop when the salesman asks you “how much is your life worth?” Should I have said “nothing”? Should I have said “around $200”? Should I have told them how much life insurance policy I have? Then they lectured me on making comments about “meeting Jesus” in a gun store. I respectfully let them know that they should talk to the store mangers about their employees sales techniques, not lecturing me about how to respond when someone asks a stupid question like that. Keep in mind, there are plenty of other customers watching all this probably thinking I’m some psycho the police are trying to de-escalate from shooting up the place. I still needed to get my license back from the guy doing my background check. A few minutes later he walks out with my license and tells me he can’t sell me a gun because of my comments and tells me, it’s like going into a crowded movie theater a telling “fire”. I told him that wasn’t the case at all. His employee asked me if I was looking for a gun for self defense and how much was my life worth. I answered that I wasn’t looking for a gun for self defense and that I’m always ready to meet Jesus. These aren’t the same things remotely as yelling “fire” in a crowded movie theater. Needless to say I won’t ever be going to a PSA again. Ironically, I moved from Maryland where you can get arrested for thinking about guns. Never thought I’d have police called on me in SC for answering a stupid question the right way.
