I’ve been a loyal customer of Simple Treasures for a while and genuinely love this shop. However, I’ve noticed a troubling change in service quality that’s making me reconsider my visits. Over the past few visits, I’ve experienced rushed service that affects the quality of my orders. My chocolates and ice creams have been noticeably messy and poorly prepared, seemingly because staff are moving too quickly without proper care. The most telling incident happened recently when a customer passed out from the heat in the store. While her distress was understandable, one employee panicked severely—running around, yelling for 911, and later recounting the incident to every customer entering the shop, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional. In contrast, another staff member stayed calm and composed. She reassured the customer, gently asked if she needed help, and handled the entire situation with grace and competence. I've met her before a few times in store and she's always so kind and amazing, I'm afraid I forgot her name but I think it was Renee, I apologize if that is wrong. When Renee asked the panicked employee to tend to other customers while she managed the emergency, the panicked employee became defensive and agitated rather than accepting the direction. This reaction highlighted a concerning lack of professionalism and composure under pressure. If this is the service level I can expect going forward, I’m afraid I won’t be able to continue visiting. I hope the shop addresses these issues.

A Local Gem for the Sweetest Cravings! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you haven’t stopped by Simple Treasures in Summerville yet, you are seriously missing out. I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and it has consistently become my go-to spot whenever I need a little pick-me-up or a unique gift. What really makes this place stand out is Kathy. She has created such a nostalgic, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a kid again the second you walk through the door. Whether she’s helping you navigate the massive wall of popcorn flavors or picking out the perfect handcrafted chocolates, her passion for the shop really shines through. A few reasons why I keep coming back: The Popcorn: They have over 70 flavors. The Carolina Crunch is a personal favorite, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. The Sweet Treats: From the homemade ice cream (perfect for those humid SC afternoons) to the decadent truffles and chocolate-covered pretzels, the quality is top-tier. The Vibe: Located right on Short Central, it’s the perfect place to grab a treat and enjoy the Summerville sun at their outdoor tables. It’s rare to find a business that balances such a huge variety with high-quality, handmade items, but Kathy and her team nail it every time. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in—your sweet tooth will thank you!

This place is whimsical and adorable! We happened upon it by chance while out bike riding. It was a perfect 80 degree Sunday afternoon in November. They have an enormous selection of treats and gift items; something for everyone! We had some chocolates—chocolate-covered pretzels and latte truffles. They were divine. They have ice cream, flavored popcorn, candy, and an array of bottled soda. Something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Lots of gift items and take away pints of ice cream. There is no seating inside, but there are a couple of tables outside. Lots of benches along the cobblestoned Central Ave and beauty all around. We ate our treats in the sunshine. This is definitely our new go-to spot!

I had a black licorice homemade ice cream cone, 1dip. It was Wonderful! I've never had black licorice in any form but the candy. The cream made it great.
