My my husband & I have heard such great things about Poogan's. So we finally decided to try it about a week ago & it did NOT disappoint! I had the 8oz filet w caramelized onions & bacon whipped mashed potatoes, asparagus, covered in a bourbon demi- glace.🤌🏼😋 I literally cleaned my plate & I never eat it all.🤤 He got the fried pork chops w whipped potatoes, green beans & sausage gravy!! Man both were sooo good that we came back this week!🫶🏼 I got the pork chops this time & he got salmon.👏🏼👏🏼Everything is awesome about this place from the food to the staff, the cleanliness and overall vibe. We'll def will be back,I have to try the short rib mac'n cheese you should definitely give them a try!

Nice atmosphere on the first floor but we were upstairs which was dark with lower ceilings. Service was good. Recommend the hush puppies (tho you only get 5 so they are pricey), filet, green beans (a little spicy but good) and fried chicken. The deviled eggs, trout, and Mac & cheese were meh.

family and I visited this past Sunday as part of our journey to try new local restaurants, and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. The Food: We started with the pimento cheese bites with bacon jam. While they tasted good, the value was poor—you only receive four small bites (about the size of a hush puppy) for the price. The entrees were where things truly fell apart: The Breakfast: My teenager’s eggs were not cooked properly, and the bacon was overcooked and rock-hard. The Country Fried Steak: Both my husband and I ordered this. The steaks were buried under an excessive amount of breading and were so salty they were nearly inedible. It felt as though an entire container of salt had been dropped into the batter. The Sides: The mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were very bland. The Hoppin’ John and collard greens were, again, incredibly salty. To top it off, the cornbread was stale and tasted a week old. The Silver Lining: My 5-year-old daughter is autistic and mostly sticks to fries; she did enjoy them, and I agree they were the highlight of the meal. While the staff offered to recook the steaks, the overall quality was so poor that we were simply ready to leave. Cleanliness and Atmosphere: The state of the establishment was the biggest issue. The area around our table and the bathrooms were extremely dirty and, frankly, disgusting. For a dining establishment, the lack of basic cleanliness is unacceptable. Verdict: Between the inedible levels of salt and the poor sanitary conditions, along with price verses portions. We will not be returning. There are much better options in the area for a family meal.

Atmosphere was beautiful and upscale! Waitress let us know she was brand new so honestly can't complain there. Food was very hit or miss. Our kids food was good but the meatloaf and pecan crusted trout weren't great. We also had to wait an hour for our food. Thankfully we had a reservation because service was out the door and people waiting for over an hour.

Everything I tasted was delicious! Crab hush puppies/fritters are a great appetizer (not pictured). There's an upstairs dining area perfect for large groups. Will definitely visit again.
