Poogan’s Southern Kitchen

Everything I tasted was delicious! Crab hush puppies/fritters are a great appetizer (not pictured). There's an upstairs dining area perfect for large groups. Will definitely visit again.

Stopped by for brunch/lunch today and overall had a really good experience. The place has a great vibe and looks really nice inside. I ordered the breakfast burger and it was solid — great flavor and the presentation was on point. The only small hiccup was they were out of lemonade, which surprised me because I had heard great things about it and it was still pretty early in the day. Service also could’ve been a little more attentive, but it wasn’t busy so maybe it was just an off moment. That being said, the food and atmosphere were good enough that I’ll definitely be coming back again. Looking forward to trying that lemonade next time.

Overall it was okay but slightly disappointing. The waitress seemed to have a forced but not very friendly attitude. I could best describe it as a nice nasty attitude. The sweet tea was great but nothing special about anything else. The crab dip has potential but it in my opinion could use some lump crab meat. I have been here before and was disappointed but wanted to give it another try. Its not for me. I have also been to the orginal restaurant in downtown Charleston and it is a delight! If you are going to try i would suggest making it to Charleston. The building and area is really nice but you can tell a lot about a place in Summerville that's not packed during lunch time.

Came here for a quiet breakfast with my hubby and left full but not crave worthy. We were the only people there at 9 on a Saturday. This seemed odd to me but I guess people are in Nexton square that early. Staff was very friendly and waitress was attentive. I had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was really delicious but waffle not so much. The waffle was so dense; reminded me of the ole pancake mix in a waffle iron type of waffle. I would come back for the chicken but leave the waffle. Hubby had chicken gravy biscuits and the gravy was slightly broken but tasted good. He also enjoyed the chicken more than anything else. We will be back for fried chicken at lunch or dinner but not breakfast.

We had such an amazing experience at Poogan’s Southern Kitchen! Trinity was our waitress and she was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely honest about the menu — which we really appreciated. Every recommendation she made was spot on, and all of our meals were incredible! We later found out Logan was the manager, and he personally brought food out to our table. The way he interacted with us was so personable and comforting. You can really tell he cares about the guests and the overall experience. The food was amazing, but the service from Trinity and Logan truly made our visit special. We will definitely be back! 💛
