I am officially obsessed with this restaurant! My mom is visiting from out of town, and since we live less than five minutes away, I finally decided it was time to try La Chev. I think they've created a monster because I'm already addicted. In fact, I'll be back this weekend when my next guests come to visit! We enjoyed drinks, split a salad (pictured is the half portion since we shared it), and shared the salmon. Everything was absolutely delicious. The outdoor patio is spacious, relaxing, and beautiful.....such a great atmosphere. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of meeting Steve. He was amazing! He was so charismatic, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They are lucky to have him. I've already told my family I want La Chev gift cards for Christmas. I almost didn't want to leave a review because I selfishly wanted to keep this place to myself, but they deserve all the recognition. Hands down, this is officially my favorite restaurant in Summerville!

The scallops were fake. We ordered two items with scallops. We didn’t immediately identify the fake scallops in the appetizer because they were covered by powders and their taste was overwhelmed by the heavy sauce. But then the entree came. We found not only the items didn’t taste like scallops but the shapes were also artificial with a surreal smooth and flat texture. (Real scallops shrink after cooking and show fiber-type textures). And they lacked the freshness of real scallops. The owner, when confronted by us, blamed her chef for purchasing synthetic products and refunded us. But it is too bad a practice. It is apparently cheating. Their chef was actually very skillful to cook fake materials into meals that are sold expensively.

A unique experience as the restaurant is in the rear yard of a house, food is excellent (a French take on southern food). We had an issue with flies but I’m not sure what you can do about that when eating outside. We got the salmon and the fried chicken, both were excellent, but portions are heavy and large so just be aware.

MUST TRY!! I wanted to have a quick dinner and stumble upon this place, Not only is the atmosphere so relaxing and cozy but you can tell so much detail has been put into the decoration! My waitress was Amanda and she was so helpful! The lobster bisque was the best lobster bisque I’ve ever had in my life no joke. They also have this lemonade that was delicious! The chef even personally came out to me to ask for a second opinion on the brunch menu! You can tell They really care about managing this place well.

For starters, this was not a normal occurrence for this cute French restaurant, but my husband and I went for NA beverages and the place lost power for about an hour. We had A BLAST sitting at the bar, talking shop with Steve and Rebekah. They made this outing so fun and memorable despite not being able to serve food. Regardless, we’ll be back for NA drinks in the future and maybe a duck dumping or two!
