Historic Central Avenue

This short pedestrian-only block of Central Avenue is where the connector from the country met the town. Several historic stores are located here. The street is paved with 1920s bricks that were unearthed from a 2001 paving project.

Incredible food and drinks. Service was phenomenal and personable. Shuckin Shack is a great place for us locals to get good local seafood at a good local price.

So beautiful and whimsical!! There is plenty of parking nearby, and a good section of the road is cobblestoned pedestrian only. Lots of food and drink options, a plant store, hair salon, etc. You could spend an afternoon here! Very relaxing and beautifully decorated with lights (and now for Christmas). We went on a Sunday afternoon, but this would be a stellar date night spot! Excellent atmosphere, and fantastic small businesses dot the street. Perfect!

AKA- Downtown Summerville. Always seems to be a peaceful vibe. Clean and quiet. Recently went to see the Halloween set- ups. It was very cool and pleasant.

Love this area of Summerville. There are so many cute shops.
