Dorchester County Tax Department

I absolutely couldn't complain about this office because everyone was really nice. Of course I was really nice and everyone was really helpful for the questions I had to ask I would definitely go to this office just to hang out if I didn't have a job LOL but I went here to pay my truck taxes and everything went well, their auditors office is located right next to the treasurer office just like the one in Charleston county. this one is conveniently located right off North main Street and also it's free parking so if you're in the area and need to pay your taxes just come on by

Every single person we spoke to yesterday were AMAZING —their kindness and patience (I asked a million questions) changed a VERY stressful situation into something that felt manageable. I've NEVER had that experience in any government department in the 5 different states I've lived.

Difficult to navigate website. Difficult to make payments. Outrageous tax bills especially the vehicle registration fee, cost goes up instead of down as vehicle depreciates. Our roads our horrible by the way so I don't understand why we're paying such high prices. Stop planting beautiful trees in medians where drivers run them over.

You can have a pleasant experience at the tax office? Who knew. Shoutout to these people.

Nice enough people but, stand in line to get your vehicle taxes, go stand in another line to pay them and then DRIVE to another office to actually show them a paid tax receipt to get you vehicle tags. All completely unnecessary and inefficient in modern times. Please get up to date and make it easy.
