If I could give Zero stars I would. The customer service is terrible, so rude and not helpful in the slightest. Turned our water off without notice and without receiving a bill of any sort. When I brought that to their attention they claimed the notice was in the previous homeowner’s name and that the water was turned off due to no payment. HOW am I to pay a bill that I have not received. I have not received anything via mail address to the previous homeowners either AND if I did - it is ILLEGAL to intentionally open mail that does not belong to you even if it was delivered to your address. Not to mention the random added fees. I paid around 160$ to get the water turned back on, then will have to pay the 130$ service fee as well as receive a bill of any sort unknown amount for the back pay. I understand having to back pay - but why is the amount unknown until the bill shows up? And why are they charging a 130$ “service fee” for switching it from one name to another? What service is being provided at that time if I’ve already paid to get the water back on? They available resources online also do not provide the proper materials. Says you need ID and Social but upon arrival at the office they did not need Social but then needed an “address verification letter” from power company and “settlement documents” from closing on house. Maybe have a section where people are able to look and see what all is needed prior to showing up and being turned away for needed more documentation. I tried calling to get clarification on the forms provided online and was cut off mid sentence given a brief explanation and was promptly hung up on. Never in my life have I experienced a more incompetent company.

I paid my bill at 2 p.m yesterday as soon as i realized my water wasn’t working. Here it is going on 11 a.m the following day, still no water. 😒😒😒 that has me a little upset . someone isn’t doing their job.

Every contact I have with SCPW is a nightmare. Their customer service is rarely even passable and the communication is dismal. I received a bill with a past due amount on it, even though I absolutely paid on time, and was told, "Oh yeah sometimes the bills are generated before the current payments are processed." WHAT?!? Please get your lives together SCPW. You've already got a monopoly, maybe don't lean into the cartoon villain role as much?

CPW rips off Sville residents to pay for their crappy "new" building that wasn't even NECESSARY!! Just a total waste of money.They deserve ZERO stars. They charge a reconnect fee, even if your water was NOT cut off. They have no ethics, no morals, and they SERIOUSLY need competition.

Jessica Prince. I have no other issue with Summerville at all but this water company is the worst. If you go pay your water bill the morning of before turn off you still have to pay the reconnect fee and ur water isn't even off yet. My water turn off is about 930 in the am. I took an uber there at 8:15 this morning to pay but they couldn't take cards and on top of that the 844 number to pay was rejecting my payments I called even tho I had the money to pay the reconnect and my bill they wouldn't work with me. I had to take another uber back up there on top of that stop to get cash and the wonderful rep that was trying to help me the first time called to tell me the cards system was back up but I let her know I was about a few minutes away I already got cash and that was at 919 I get there cash payments and the cards went down I got a paper receipt she said she was going to let them know to update it so it didn't get turned off I make my payment I was done at about 9:24. Now thru all of this my water was on. I turned my water on washed some dishes and all from breakfast. 5minutes later my water is off. Called them and she says they have until 7pm to turn it back on wow really. The whole point was because I did not want to be in here all day with no water which is the reason I got up early to pay them before u turned it off even though u still charge me a reconnect fee before my water is even off. This bs can't be legal. It's robbery and in humane. Oh let's not forget the fact that u only get one payment arrangement a year. As if I dont know i have to pay yall for water that should be free. Please someone else open a water company near us. We need you!!!!!
