Ashley River Park

200 Renken Rd, Summerville, SC 29485, USA

Ashley River Park is one of Summerville’s best spots for an easy outdoor reset, whether you have an hour to walk or a whole afternoon to spend by the water. Set along the Ashley River, it mixes wide open green space with family friendly play areas, a splash pad, and peaceful trails that feel tucked away without being far from town.

What to do at Ashley River Park

Some park days are all about movement, a trail loop, a quick dog park stop, or a paddle from the kayak launch. Other days are slower, like sitting near the fishing pond, letting kids burn off energy at the playground, or meeting friends under a shelter for a low key picnic.

The layout makes it easy to do more than one thing in a visit. Families can bounce between the splash pad and play areas, while walkers and runners head toward the riverside trail for shade, views, and fresh air. It’s also a solid choice for small celebrations, thanks to its shelters and gathering spaces.

  • Riverside walking trails

  • Kayak launch on the Ashley River

  • Fishing pond

  • Splash pad

  • Playgrounds

  • Dog parks (separate areas for small and large dogs)

  • Picnic shelters and picnic areas

  • Event pavilion and open lawn space

  • Restrooms and parking

Very impressed. Very nice layout and the playground is great. Splash pad is a very nice addition as well. Easy access with parking and restrooms nearby. The pond is alo very nice. The entire grounds are very well maintained, aside from a small flooded area on one of the trail connections, but that's unavoidable from recent floods. A superb retreat from all the chaos of Summerville.

Beautiful park for all ages! They have a fun play ground for the kiddos with some picnic areas to have lunch or a playdate. There's dog parks available where pups can run and play wile being fenced in. They have walking paths to explore deeper into the woods or a nice path around the lake. Keep an eye out for wildlife minding their own business too! If you take the paths through the woods wear close toe shoes. Keep an eye out for tree roots and uneven ground. The facilities are clean and well maintained.

It was our first time here and it is a great place for older kids to play and a great place to connect with nature with trails and places to seats to enjoy the view. I wish there was a play area for 1 to 2 years old babies.

We love visiting this park! Playground is great for all ages, and the bathrooms are clean. We often come for a picnic lunch at the many picnic tables and pavilions. We have enjoy fishing and the great little trail along the river.

Small park, it doesn’t have many trails for running or cycling, which was what I was looking for, it is more than anything as a recreational park for children and to have meetings or parties, since it has cabins with tables and chairs
