Heard great things about this southern restaurant and had to try it out. Located in the heart of Historic Summerville. Got there around 5pm and avoided the crowd. Entrance is on the side. Great outdoor seating with an area for the kids to play. We ate inside (105 degrees) in July and sat at the bar. Shelby was our server/bar tender. We tried steak bites (so delicious) bang bang shrimp (on point) and the Icehouse salad with cheddar, apples and candied pecans. Exactly what we needed! We learned about the history of the ice house and enjoyed the cozy-friendly vibe! We will be back.

My friend and I came here because the original place we were going to meet was having work done. Such a good idea! I had the fried shrimp with collards and sweet potato fries. Everything tasted great but I especially enjoyed the greens. She got the steak bite appetizer with some other food - she was happy too. They had some kind of boba martini special on the menu - I HAD to try it! It was okay, my friend's drink looked better with the whipped cream on top but I forgot what she ordered. We had the section pretty much to ourselves (it was early afternoon) and the ambiance, service, and overall experience was nice - no complaints at all.

Cool place, nice vibes. The food was a mix of good and bad, nothing horrible and nothing great. My pork chop was way over cooked, and you could see where the cook cut it with a knife to make sure it wasn’t raw. They did, however, correct this and sent me a perfectly cooked ribeye, which oddly enough was cut crooked so one end was really thin and the other end was thick haha. The Demi glaze that came with it wasn’t that at all, more like some boxed beef broth mixed with cornstarch and waaaay over salted. I gave up on eating and just drank some more $8 beers. Nobody at the table finished their food, just a few bites each. The crab rice was pretty good, but this may be the only place in the low country that sells it for $14 for less than a hockey puck amount. Portions otherwise were generous. Overall, the place is gimmicky, subpar, and overpriced. I won’t be back.

Its been over 8 years since I've sat down and enjoyed a meal here and I must say I am still impressed. Per the usual vibes were good. "JRay" our server very knowledgeable of the menu items and highlighted key items. Drinks were topped off nicely. Shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly tossed in choice hot sauce and topped with feta. French fries crispy even though loaded with cheese and bacon. Brisket tacos were tender and juicy, succulent if you will. Now the deviled eggs???? Ohh Lawd 🤤🤤🤤🤤. My girlfriend is a summerville native this being her first time in Icehouse restaurant she was impressed, everything was amazing. Thanks for a local 5* feel. Until next time.

Very good experience! My wife and I came here on New Year’s Eve, and was fortunately able to be sat down pretty quickly! The parking lot was very small but we found a spot across the street. It was initially hard to find the entrance, as it is apparently in the back of the building. We mistakenly walked up the stairs to another bar area, but if you want the restaurant you have to enter through the back. Our waitress was extremely nice, especially for working on a holiday. Our meals were also very, very good! The food is slightly pricy, but I can’t complain because it is a nicer place. The menu has a good variety of food. For appetizers we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, and the she-crab soup. Both VERY tasty. I would ask for both pita AND chips with the dip (pro tip). I would order either one of them again in a heartbeat. Our entree’s were also extremely good. I ordered the seared scallops and shrimp, which was a new years special meal. We also finished it off with beignets for dessert. Those were good, but sort of plain. However, overall the meal was fantastic paired with the very hospitable service. The atmosphere is pretty cool and unique inside with the brick and old design. Any slight negatives were overshadowed by the great experience we had. We will be back!
