First time in, while out shopping with my daughter and it was great! Wasn’t sure what to expect and we really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere! The cashier was very friendly and helped me through ordering. The turkey avocado could use a *bit* more flavor but bread was fresh and very tasty, the chicken tortilla soup was delicious and hot, Caesar salad was delish and my daughter got that with salmon, loved it!

This place is basically a hidden gem in Azalea Square. I’ve never noticed it for years, and never even heard of it, but stumbled across it today on maps, and I will definitely be back. Way better than McAlister’s and Panera etc. The food is so much better than the reheated stuff at Panera, and bland options at McAlister’s. The new pick 3 option is the perfect amount of food, and allows you to try different things. Love that I’m able to order on the kiosk or at my table from my phone so I don’t have to deal with lines or rushing to decide what I want, and I can also customize my sandwich to get exactly what I want. Also I loved the cups they give out, and the “gourmet roundtable” has nice little snacks like thin breadsticks from Italy and crackers among other things. The seating area is huge and there was more than enough seating even on a busy Sunday afternoon rush. Plenty of windows with cozy lighting and comfy seating options. Also even when the kiosk didn’t print out my receipt they were able to print it out for me at the counter which was nice. Food came quick and was presented well. They even crisp the top of the mac and cheese and put it in a metal dish, rather than just giving it to you scooped out of a big pot into a paper bowl. And the bread on the sandwich was amazing and the cold cuts were fresh. It was overall a refreshingly great experience, I highly recommend giving it a try as it’s my new favorite spot in Summerville. You can tell they care about their product, I’ll have to be back soon.

Tried Newk’s Eatery for the first time today, and I’m honestly surprised I hadn’t checked it out sooner. It has that “why didn’t I come here before” kind of feel. The menu has a lot more variety than I expected, and everything tasted noticeably fresher than what you usually get at the bigger chains. I went with one of their combo options, which was perfect because it let me sample a few things without feeling stuffed. The sandwich was stacked well, the ingredients tasted clean, and the soup actually had real flavor instead of that watered‑down taste you get at some places. Even the presentation felt a step above typical fast‑casual. Ordering was easy — you can use the kiosk or your phone, which made the whole process quick and stress‑free. The dining area is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seating and lots of natural light. It’s the kind of place where you don’t feel rushed to finish your meal. One thing that stood out was how fast the food came out and how well it was put together. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Even the little extras at the condiment station were a nice touch.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Reliable, fresh, and fast-casual done right!” Newk’s in Summerville is a solid go-to when you want something quick but fresher than typical fast food. The menu has a great variety—salads, sandwiches, pizzas—and everything we ordered came out looking (and tasting) fresh. The atmosphere is clean and casual, perfect for a weekday lunch or a chill dinner when you don’t feel like cooking. Portion sizes are generous, and the food hits that sweet spot between comfort and light. Only reason for 4 stars? It can get a little hectic during peak hours, and finding clean tables sometimes takes a minute. But staff is friendly and the food consistently delivers. Bonus points for that pickles and condiments station—Newk’s knows what they’re doing.

Had an excellent pesto Caesar salad. Food was fresh and service was great. Dining room is cozy and clean. First time seeing this chain so wasn't sure what to expect but would definitely come back!
