If I could give Baker’s BBQ six stars, I’d trade my banana pudding for the privilege. Our youth mission trip crew was rebuilding a home next door this week, so naturally we launched a highly sophisticated marketing campaign involving a cardboard sign begging for pulled pork. Kevin and the team didn’t just say yes, they absolutely spoiled us. The food? Outstanding. The pulled pork was everything great South Carolina BBQ should be, and the banana pudding nearly brought productivity on our job site to a complete halt. Team morale skyrocketed. Meat sweats set in. A food coma loomed. Somehow, we still managed to get back to work. What really stood out? The generosity. Baker’s didn’t see strangers asking for a handout—they saw neighbors. They reminded a bunch of sweaty volunteers what Southern hospitality looks like. If you’re anywhere near Summerville, do yourself a favor: eat at Baker’s. Come hungry… and maybe don’t schedule anything too strenuous afterward.

Amazing staff who were super sweet and a good amount of chatty. Very helpful and overall great experience. We went during lunch on Friday, so it was pretty calm. We sat next to the waterfall and watched the beautiful fish. The food came out fast, and it was absolutely delicious. You can't beat their brisket and collard greens. Everything on the plate was unbelievably good. We will definitely take the time to drive up here again!

As I walked up to the restaurant, the rich smell of barbecue smoke let me know I was in for a treat. The hash and rice were delicious and perfectly seasoned—just like the kind I grew up eating. The brisket was tender and juicy, and the broccoli salad was perfection (no onions—yay!). The only downside was the sweet tea wasn’t sweet enough for my taste. Overall, I highly recommend this place—this BBQ is the real deal.

If you are headed to Charleston, make sure you time your visit to stop in Summerville and eat some of the best BBQ ever. The brisket, greens and sweet potatoes are a must along with the pecan pie. To top it off, the restaurant is inside a cute little garden center and not far from a small park if you need to stretch your legs after a long drive. Eat here! You will thank me.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I’ve been all across the South and I have had BBQ from many spots. Baker’s is a top tier spot that serves world class barbecue. It looks like how a BBQ spot should, the service is friendly, and the food blew my mind. I got the bbq pork sandwich, and it was probably the largest I’ve ever had. There was easily over a half pound of meat on it. The mustard sauce was perfect. The sides were great especially the Mac and Cheese. Make sure to get there early because they were out of some sides when I got there. This is not a complaint. It is a testament to how good the sides are.
