I took my 15 year old daughter to K&L salon to get her hair done for the first time. We were there over 5 hours and the girl did not even color it well. It was not to the roots, she cut a foot off when she told my daughter she was only going to cut a few inches, there were no highlights in the back, and she was supposed to do curtain bangs and layers. That did not happen. I paid $280 and she will not refund us. I have to pay someone else $150 to get all that mess fixed. The only good thing was that she was very nice. My daughter is so upset about this as am I.

Mikaylah Broom @ The Glamour House located in Sola Salons, Dorchester Rd, Summerville SC, is a decent stylist, but she is ALWAYS late, sometimes up to an hour LATE! She has absolutely NO respect for her customer’s time. When I showed up for my last appt on 3/14/25, I wasn’t able to get into the Sola Salons building, which is where her salon is located, because the doors are locked 24/7 and clients have to use the call box to contact their stylist to be buzzed in. I texted/called her numerous times and she never answered/responded. I eventually drove out of the parking lot after having waited 41 minutes past my appt time. A whole 8 hours later, she finally responded via text with “Hey love, sorry I left my work phone at home, I was hoping you’d come inside.” Huh?? I responded to ask how was she expecting me to come in when the doors are locked and I have to be buzzed in. I also explained that no customers came out while I was at the call box so that I could try to come in, and what she should’ve done since she knew I had a 6:30pm appt was bring herself outside to look for me in the immediate area since she knew she left her work phone at home and wouldn’t be able to answer/respond if I called/texted or even buzz me in. I then demanded a refund of my $30 deposit. Sensible request, right? Welp, instead this young lady had the audacity to charge an additional $40 cancellation fee to my card and even suggested that it’s normal for stylists to be late. It was so silly to charge a total of $70 to my card for services NOT rendered. It was even sillier to believe I wouldn’t successfully dispute those charges through my bank and be refunded! Just know that if you have an appointment with her, you shouldn’t have anything scheduled immediately after, and that’s if she does your hair at all.

This place is great. Each stylist has their own space. It's a little small, but all you need. Debbie is awesome! That's why she stays booked 3 months out.
