Recently I visited Shug's, an unassuming small spot house in what used to be a seafood market. My visit was prompted by a video I saw posted to Facebook. Like anyone, I took to the Internet to see what it's about. The menu had seemingly great offerings, but my imagination did not compare to what I was served. Everything here is prepared lovingly, and you can taste the passion these folks have for the food in every bite. Never have I been served such succulent fried fish, and the deviled crab is to die for. The portions are large, and the prices fair. The service is more than attentive with smiles the moment you hit the door. The gumbo I ordered is something like you'd find in New Orleans with a rich, dark roux to start and chicken that melts in your mouth. When I say you don't need teeth to eat it, I absolutely mean just that. I will definitely be making the trek as often as possible to taste the rest of their offerings. 10/10, highly recommend. Side note: while we had no wait for a table, get there before the dinner rush, within 15 minutes of us being seated the wait call was around a half hour.

Being intentional about the places I dine at, I was truly pleased with this establishment. From entering through the doors to paying the bill, was truly delightful. The food was made to order as everything came out hot. The portion sizes were worth every penny. Noah showed off his moves with the music while Ms. Roxanne was very cordial with all the guests. I'm glad I stopped through, with photos of how delicious the entrees were. Shugs for the WIN Oh, by the way, the sweet potato casserole is the taste of Thanksgiving on the side

Just moved from nh in may, just looking for a quick bite before bed and this is less than a mile from my house so I figured why not.. absolutely no regrets, place was clean staff was friendly smiling and interacting with the customers 😀 10/10 I got the big fish sandwich, the fish was cooked perfect crunchy outside but soft and flavorful inside, I have never tried fried okra, but for this being my first time i love it ! Cornbread was warm, soft and airy not dense and dry! I will absolutely be coming back ! I even took a picture of the after math of my hunger against great food

The ONLY bad thing I’ll say is Shug’s has been here for over a year, and only today did we discover it. It’s not very often you can honestly say “anything you order will be fantastic”. I’ll say this about Shug’s and stand by it! My wife and I ordered 2 very different meals and everything on both plates was extraordinary. We tried the collard green eggroll appetizer… I wanted to throw it on the floor and roll on it ~ seriously ~ that good. The hush puppies included with both our meals were truly the best I’ve ever had. Not sure what the chef has going on back there but he’s a culinary wizard. My red snapper was so good, my mouth is watering right now thinking about it. Go to Shug’s, order whatever you want, and enjoy a wonderfully prepared meal. By the way, everyone working tonight made us feel so welcome. Every little detail of our experience was perfect. Thank you Shug ~ we’ll be back!!!

I’ve lived here for 6 months now and everytime I’ve went out to eat, I’m disappointed. This place? I would eat here everyday. SO good. Reminds me of my hometown local places but even better. The first place I’ve eaten and been like WOW that was so worth the money I can’t wait to go back. On the way we talked about what we were getting next time haha
