Pine Trace Park

303 Chandler Creek Road, Ladson, SC, USA

Pine Trace Park is one of Summerville’s newer outdoor spots, built for a full afternoon outside without needing a long drive. It mixes a preserved, wooded feel with amenities that work for families, dog owners, and anyone who wants a simple place to walk, play, or get on the water.

The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, with a small admission fee. For current details on hours, fees, and rentals, it’s worth checking Dorchester County’s park page before you go.

Easy ways to spend a day at the park

Start with the inclusive playground if you have kids along, then head to the shaded trails for an easy loop through the trees. Disc golfers can bring a bag or rent discs on-site, and the kayak launch makes it possible to add a little time on the water without planning a full trip.

Bringing a pup? The fenced dog parks are separated for small and large dogs, which makes it easier to relax while they burn off energy. Picnic shelters and event space are also available when you need a spot for a birthday, meetup, or family gathering.

Nice park! The disc golf course is fun for all ages however it could use a LOT more benches along the way. There was a ton of fungal diversity in the park. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The staff helped in bringing someone with limited mobility back to the parking area after we made it to the 12th hole but they weren't able to walk any further.

Peaceful and lovely. Large children's park, loved the benches around the lake. Walked the yellow, white, green, and red trails. You do have to keep your eyes on the ground as it is very "rooty", so it is more difficult to bird-watch. Had a doe startle us (well, my daughter and I probably startled the doe...lol) so there is definitely a chance to see wildlife here. Park was very clean and the trails were very kept. Nice place to walk and have some solitude but also a great place to take the whole family. Lots of picnic tables and several pavilions.

This park is absolutely beautiful!! We went kayaking and the kids are already begging to go back. Prices were reasonable, bathrooms were clean, and the staff was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. We were able to see deer and enjoy all the wildlife as well. The playground was very nice. They had plenty of picnic tables as well, fishing pier, and lots of shade. We have already recommended it to our friends and will be bringing family here when they come visit.

The lake is quite breathtaking!. Beautiful serene place to relax and contemplate life. The kiddie playground is large, would have loved to see a splash pad there though. We went for frisbee golf, unfortunately we didn’t go past hole 6, way too many mosquitoes this time of year I guess. (Beginning of September) We were getting eaten alive, my bad for not bringing repellant. Clean bathrooms though and nice staff. Will come again when it’s cooler out.

Me and my best buds Rob and Ron played the whole 18 holes. It's a good course but it definitely needs some landscaping / tree removal to clear up some of the fairways. I'm all for a good challenge but this is just a little too much. Other than that, the whole course is shaded buy a nice tree canopy!
