This is by far one of the most dysfunctional libraries in Dorchester County! If you are looking for a quite/semi-quite place to study etc this location is NOT it! The patrons are excessively loud and nobody says anything about it. If you need a private quiet space to study FORGET about it! They will not let you use the vacant rooms in the building that your tax dollars paid for! I’ve lived in Summerville over 20 years and we were allowed to use the quite rooms now all of a sudden you can’t and they flat out tell you to go to the other library’s for quite rooms! I don’t live near the other library’s so why would I need to go all the way to one of them! This library has completely gone downhill over the years! There is no structure, order, etc! If you are looking for a good quiet space to study etc go somewhere else! This library needs work and rules enforced!

I love this library! The librarians are always so friendly and helpful. There is a great selection of books and magazines available, and plenty of computers. The programs are wonderful, bulletin board’s imaginative. Lots of space to spread out if you need to do some research or work. What’s not to love?🥰

The staff is always wonderful and very helpful. Great library to study, use the computer, relax and read. Printing is free for the first 10 pages per day. After that, it's .25 cent per page. There are plenty of activities for all ages. Free feminine sanitary products in the women's restroom.

This is a local library, with a good selection of print books, audio books, and a moderate selection of DVDs. Lots of families use the library. There are comfortable tables to work at, as well as several sets of carrels, which also have power strips. The free wifi is decent, at about 80 MBPS both up and down when I was there last. The staff is helpful and friendly. There are meeting rooms, but I have not used them. The atmosphere is very librsry-like: mostly quiet, with occasional children's voices and adults discussing. On Sunday when I was at the library, one man was tutoring another for an electrician's exam.
