Zazzy just moved into Downtown Summerville, SC. You might see it strolling along the edges of a page, pausing near a photo, or popping in with a small bit of personality when you least expect it. It’s here to make the site feel warmer and more personal while keeping downtown news, events, and local businesses front and center.

Say hello to Zazzy
Zazzy is our new virtual mascot, built to live right on the website. It is shaped like an azalea flower, with a look inspired by Summerville’s long-running connection to spring blooms and the pride locals take in them.2 It is a small reminder that downtown has energy, character, and life.
Why an Azalea?
Summerville’s identity has deep roots in flowers and pine trees. The town slogan “Flower Town in the Pines” dates back to a Chamber of Commerce slogan contest in 1925.3 Many locals also know the Flowertown Festival tradition, with Azalea Park as a centerpiece and spring color as the main attraction.2
Who created Zazzy?
Zazzy was created by Local Robot, a Summerville-based web design studio.1
Is Zazzy AI?
No. It isn’t very intelligent at all.
