I love this library! The librarians are always so friendly and helpful. There is a great selection of books and magazines available, and plenty of computers. The programs are wonderful, bulletin board’s imaginative. Lots of space to spread out if you need to do some research or work. What’s not to love?🥰

Super friendly staff and great children’s programs. The lady who hosts storytots (I think her name is April) is great with kids and offered headphones for my son who is sensitive to loud noises. We really enjoy the programs they offer for kids!

The staff is always wonderful and very helpful. Great library to study, use the computer, relax and read. Printing is free for the first 10 pages per day. After that, it's .25 cent per page. There are plenty of activities for all ages. Free feminine sanitary products in the women's restroom.

This is a local library, with a good selection of print books, audio books, and a moderate selection of DVDs. Lots of families use the library. There are comfortable tables to work at, as well as several sets of carrels, which also have power strips. The free wifi is decent, at about 80 MBPS both up and down when I was there last. The staff is helpful and friendly. There are meeting rooms, but I have not used them. The atmosphere is very librsry-like: mostly quiet, with occasional children's voices and adults discussing. On Sunday when I was at the library, one man was tutoring another for an electrician's exam.

Disappointed and Frustrated – This Isn’t the First Time I’ve had enough with the way Dorchester County Library in Summerville handles their patrons. My account was recently blocked, and I only received an email letting me know—no explanation, no chance to respond first. Later, I got another message saying my account was back to normal, still with no apology for the false accusation or the inconvenience. And this isn’t even the first time. Previously, they tried to claim I never returned a game that was actually still sitting at their own front desk. Now they’re accusing me of damaging a book that was already dirty and had torn pages when I checked it out. They just assume the last person who borrowed the item is responsible without properly checking. What makes it worse is that if I hadn’t sent an email stating my innocence, they would've left my account blocked and expected me to pay for something I didn’t do—which I absolutely wasn’t going to do. There’s no real investigation—just quick to accuse and slow to take accountability. So I definitely will not be returning here. That was my last strike. Patrons deserve better treatment and more respect.
