This Privacy Policy explains how Local Robot LLC, a Rhode Island limited liability company located in Providence, Rhode Island (“Local Robot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit or use SummervilleDowntown.com, the Summerville iPhone and iPad app, our related multiplayer online mini-game, and any related accounts, login features, content, communications, and services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Services. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or applications that may be linked from our Services and that we do not control.

1. Scope and Audience

The Website is intended for a general audience. However, account-based features, including the Game, are available only to users who are at least 13 years old.

Users under 13 may not create an account, log in, or use the Game. If you are at least 13 but under 18, or otherwise under the age of legal majority where you live, you should use the Services only with the permission and supervision of your parent or legal guardian.

2. Notice at Collection / Summary of Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect the following categories of information:

  • Identifiers and contact information (such as email address, username, display name, IP address, and similar identifiers)
  • Account and registration information (such as login credentials, date of birth, account status, and preferences)
  • Gameplay, multiplayer, and session information (such as login timestamps, session IDs, gameplay activity, progress, settings, and diagnostics)
  • Device, browser, and usage information (such as browser type, operating system, device type, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, clicks, and referring/exit pages)
  • Communications and submissions (such as contact form messages, support requests, newsletter preferences, listings, and other content you submit)
  • Cookie and similar-technology data (such as identifiers associated with cookies, local storage, analytics tools, pixels, and similar technologies)

We collect these categories of information to operate and improve the Services, create and manage accounts, provide multiplayer functionality, maintain security, measure performance, understand usage, market the Services where permitted by law, communicate with you, comply with law, and enforce our policies.

3. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you interact with the Services, such as when you create an account, log in, fill out a form, subscribe to a newsletter, submit a listing or other content, or contact us.

Examples may include:

  • Account information (for example: email address, username, display name, password or credential information, date of birth, preferences, and account status)
  • Submissions and listings (for example: titles, descriptions, dates/times, locations/addresses, links, images, categories/tags, and contact details you choose to include)
  • Communications (for example: name, email address, and message contents when you contact us)
  • Newsletter or marketing sign-ups (for example: email address and preferences you provide)

b. Date of Birth / Age-Screening Information

When you create an account, we may ask for your date of birth to determine whether you are eligible to create an account and use the Game, to apply and enforce our age restrictions, to help maintain the integrity of our age-screening process, and for related security, fraud-prevention, and legal-compliance purposes.

If you indicate that you are under 13, we may block account creation or access to the Game. We may retain limited information reasonably necessary to maintain the integrity of the age gate, prevent repeated underage sign-up attempts, detect fraud or abuse, comply with legal obligations, and document our compliance efforts.

c. Gameplay, Multiplayer, and Session Information

When you use the Game or account features, we may collect information needed to provide those features, such as account identifiers, login events, session identifiers, saved settings, gameplay events, progress, achievements, room or match participation, bug reports, crash logs, diagnostics, anti-fraud signals, and other service-performance data.

d. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit or use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the Services, such as:

  • IP address (which may be used to infer general location such as city/state or region)
  • Device type, operating system, browser type/version, language, and similar technical information
  • Pages or screens viewed, links clicked, session duration, gameplay activity, and navigation paths
  • Referring/exit pages or URLs
  • Approximate geolocation derived from IP address
  • Identifiers associated with cookies, local storage, or similar technologies

e. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, local storage, tags, and log files) for functionality, authentication, security, analytics, marketing, and to understand and improve the overall experience.

Some cookies or similar technologies are strictly necessary for the Services to function properly. Others help us measure traffic, understand how visitors and players use the Services, improve design and performance, remember settings, or support our marketing efforts.

4. How We Use Information

We use information we collect for purposes including:

  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the Services and their features
  • Creating, securing, authenticating, and managing accounts
  • Determining account eligibility and applying age restrictions
  • Providing multiplayer game functionality and saving settings or progress
  • Reviewing, formatting, and publishing submissions or listings you request us to publish
  • Responding to your messages, inquiries, bug reports, and requests
  • Sending newsletters and other communications if you subscribe or otherwise consent (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Monitoring and analyzing usage, trends, performance, and effectiveness
  • Improving the user experience, gameplay, design, and functionality
  • Supporting marketing, campaign measurement, and promotional efforts where permitted by law
  • Detecting, preventing, investigating, and addressing security issues, abuse, spam, cheating, and fraud
  • Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms and policies

5. Analytics, Session Replay, and Tracking Tools

We use third-party tools to understand how users interact with the Services, improve performance, troubleshoot issues, measure marketing effectiveness, and improve the overall experience. These tools may use cookies and similar technologies and may collect device, usage, and session-related information.

a. Microsoft Clarity

We may use Microsoft Clarity to better understand how users interact with the Services through behavioral metrics and analytics such as heatmaps and session replays. Clarity may record information about interactions such as clicks, scrolling, navigation, and technical details such as browser and device information.

Depending on configuration and Microsoft’s features, certain content may be masked. Even so, you should avoid entering sensitive information into fields unless necessary.

b. Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to collect information about Website and Game traffic and usage, such as pages or screens viewed, time spent, device/browser information, general activity, and referral information.Google may use cookies or other identifiers to provide this service.

c. Google Search Console

We may use Google Search Console to monitor search performance and indexing, such as search queries, indexing errors, and visibility in search results. This tool is generally used for aggregated search and site performance insights.

d. Marketing and Measurement Technologies

We may use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to support our marketing efforts, measure campaign performance, understand interest in the Services, and improve our outreach. Depending on your location and applicable law, these activities may be subject to consent or opt-out rights.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers and vendors. We may share information with third parties that help us operate the Services, such as hosting, cloud storage, authentication, analytics, communications, email delivery, customer support, and security providers. They are authorized to use information only as needed to provide services to us or as otherwise permitted by law.
  • Analytics and marketing partners. We may share or make available certain identifiers, device, browser, usage, and cookie-related information to analytics or marketing providers, subject to your choices and applicable law.
  • Public postings at your direction. If you submit content for publication on the Website, the information you choose to include may be displayed publicly.
  • Gameplay display. Limited account-display information, such as your username, display name, avatar, or basic gameplay presence, may be visible to other players where necessary for multiplayer functionality.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Local Robot, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
  • Aggregated or de-identified data. We may use and share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Although we do not sell personal information for money, some privacy laws may treat certain cookie- or advertising-related disclosures as “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising.” Where required, we will provide applicable notices and opt-out rights.

7. Publicly Displayed Information and Multiplayer Visibility

Any information you submit for publication on the Website may become public and searchable. This may include names, links, descriptions, addresses/locations, dates/times, images, or contact details if you choose to include them.

If you use the multiplayer Game, certain limited account-display information may be visible to other players as part of normal gameplay, such as your username, display name, avatar, status, or other basic gameplay indicators necessary for the Service to function.

Please do not use a username, display name, or public submission that contains your real name, email address, phone number, address, or other sensitive information. We may reject, remove, or require changes to usernames or submissions that violate these rules or our Terms of Service.

8. Your Choices

  • Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our on-site cookie or consent controls. If you disable certain cookies or technologies, some features may not function properly.
  • Google Analytics opt-out. You may be able to use Google’s opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Email unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.
  • Account information. If you have an account, you may be able to access, update, or delete certain information through your account settings or by contacting us.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information, or to object to or opt out of certain processing, including targeted advertising, certain profiling, or certain sales/sharing of personal information.

To make a request, please contact us using the information provided below. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests. We may retain certain information as required or permitted by law, including for security, fraud prevention, compliance, recordkeeping, and dispute-resolution purposes.

Where required by law, if we decline to take action on a request, you may appeal that decision by contacting us and using the subject line “Privacy Appeal”.

Where required by applicable law, we also honor qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals as valid requests to opt out of certain regulated processing.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Website is intended for a general audience, but account-based features, including the Game, are not available to children under 13. Users under 13 may not create an account, log in, or use the Game.

We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to register for Game accounts. We use date of birth information at sign-up to help determine eligibility and block underage registration.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 in a manner inconsistent with applicable law or our policies, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information, disable the account, or otherwise restrict processing as appropriate.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Services, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and address the issue.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to help protect information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:

  • To operate the Services and provide requested features
  • To maintain accounts, logins, gameplay progress, and related functionality
  • To maintain and display public content you submitted (unless removed or no longer needed)
  • To document age-screening, consent, privacy requests, and compliance activities
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, cheating, and security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected. We may delete, de-identify, aggregate, or minimize data when it is no longer reasonably necessary.

13. International Visitors

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. Data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

The Services may link to third-party websites or services (for example, organizers, venues, businesses, ticketing pages, social platforms, or publishers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third parties.We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we may also provide additional notice, such as by posting a notice through the Services or, where appropriate, contacting account holders directly.

17. Summerville iPhone and iPad app

The following provisions apply to the Summerville iPhone and iPad app, including testing versions, when you use those features.

The Summerville app provides local information, maps and directions, event planning, saved items, and optional account features. You can browse public content and keep saved items on your device without an account. The app does not include Virtual Azalea Park gameplay.

Device storage and public content. The app stores content caches, language and map preferences, saved-item snapshots, and event reminder settings on your device. These support faster browsing and access to previously loaded information. Device backup settings may also apply to locally stored app data. Requests to our content services may include searches, categories, selected dates, map areas, and nearby-search parameters. Our hosting systems also receive ordinary connection information, including IP addresses and request information, to deliver and secure those services. Access logs can contain search terms and nearby-search coordinates together with the connection’s IP address. The native screens do not embed the website’s advertising or session-replay scripts; the website and game disclosures above continue to apply to those services and to applicable browser experiences.

Location, maps, and navigation. If you use a location feature, the app asks for the relevant iOS permission. Your permitted approximate or precise location can be used to find nearby places, show your position, and calculate or follow a walking or driving route. You can browse without granting location access and can change the permission in iOS Settings. Active navigation can continue location updates and spoken instructions while the screen is locked or the app is in the background; use End Navigation to stop the active trip.

Mapbox supplies map, address-search, routing, and navigation services. Requests to those services can contain map areas, search text, route endpoints, location, and related technical information. Mapbox SDKs also process location and usage telemetry under their own disclosures. The map’s attribution control provides Mapbox’s telemetry choice. Review Mapbox’s location telemetry information and Mapbox’s privacy policy for its processing practices. Changing a telemetry choice does not prevent the network requests needed to display maps or obtain directions. The app does not keep a local history of address searches; Mapbox processes the text sent to its address-search service under its privacy disclosures.

Event reminders and calendar copies. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device after you allow notifications. They are not synchronized to your account as reminders, and they are not an immediate event-cancellation alert service. Add to Calendar opens Apple’s event editor so you can review and save a copy to a calendar you choose. The app does not upload your personal calendar contents to Local Robot. Calendar providers and device settings govern the resulting calendar copy. That copy can remain after an event changes or you clear app data; manage it in your calendar app.

Azalea Island sign-in, saved items, and your guide. Optional sign-in uses Local Robot’s browser authentication service and your existing Azalea Island account. The app receives scoped access credentials and an opaque account identifier; credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. It uses the account identifier to keep different people’s app data separate. When enabled, saved-item states and limited display snapshots are stored with your account to synchronize across devices. Guest saves can be transferred into your account when you sign in.

The personalized guide reads your existing Azalea’s name and appearance. It does not import game inventory, progress, or presence into Summerville. Guide choices open relevant app content. Use Default changes the guide selection on this device; Disconnect signs the device out and requests revocation of its credentials. Disconnect does not erase the shared account or its synchronized saves. The device retains the account’s saved collection and unsent changes encrypted with a device Keychain key; they remain hidden until the same account signs in again. Clear Summerville saved data while signed in erases that local collection and its synchronized data.

Newsletter and listing forms. Newsletter subscriptions send your email address to our WordPress/Gravity Forms service. Business and event submissions send the fields and files you choose to provide for review, including the phone/address publication choices shown in the form. A submission receipt confirms receipt for processing; it does not guarantee publication or a separately configured email-list subscription. Uploaded files awaiting a submission are staged privately, marked to expire after one hour, and removed by periodic cleanup. Accepted form entries and attachments are retained for submission handling, correspondence, moderation, and the purposes described in the rest of this policy.

Protected pending form requests. When you choose to submit a newsletter or listing form, the app first stores the request fields, any selected attachment, and retry information in an encrypted local queue protected by a device Keychain key. This queue is excluded from device backups. It lets you recover the original request after closing the form or app without silently creating a new submission. Submission and retries require your explicit action; the queue does not send forms automatically in the background. Browser verification responses are not saved in the queue. Pending form requests belong to this device, are not synchronized to your Azalea Island account, and are not removed by Disconnect.

After the app successfully stores an accepted receipt, it removes the form fields, attachment and request bodies from the local queue. The remaining receipt contains limited request information: an identifier, form type, creation date, status and any entry reference. Until the result is resolved, the protected original request may remain so it can be retried safely. Clear Summerville saved data erases locally retained pending form requests and receipts. Clearing them cannot withdraw or delete a submission already received by the website, including one for which the app did not receive a confirmation; use our privacy contact methods for requests about received submissions.

The app’s form verification uses Cloudflare Turnstile in a browser authentication session. Verification sends a challenge response and connection information, including IP address, to the security service. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Login, verification, and external-source pages are web experiences; their applicable privacy disclosures and browser settings also apply.

Clearing data and deleting the account. Clear Summerville saved data clears the current saved collection and app reminders on this device and resets the guide selection. While signed in, it also removes that account’s synchronized saved-item snapshots and states. While signed out, it clears the guest collection; encrypted collections belonging to disconnected accounts remain hidden until their account signs in again. Minimal content identifiers, removal revisions, and hashed retry identifiers remain to prevent another offline device from restoring erased saves. These contain no saved titles, images, or contact information. The shared account’s eventual deletion removes this synchronization metadata too. Clear Summerville saved data does not delete Gravity Forms submissions, previously exported calendar entries, or Azalea Island game data.

Delete Azalea Island Account submits a request for permanent deletion of the shared Local Robot account and associated Azalea Island data, including Summerville account data. The existing deletion process provides a reference and targets completion within seven days; the acceptance screen is not a statement that deletion has already finished. Disconnect only signs out the device. Privacy requests concerning form entries, retained records, or other service data can also be sent through the contact methods in the main policy.

Native controls

Location and notification permissions are managed in iOS Settings. Guide selection and account actions are in the app’s settings. Mapbox telemetry choices are reached through the map attribution control. Newsletter unsubscribe instructions are provided with newsletter communications. Source links, business websites, adoption applications, home listings, and ticketing pages may be operated by others with separate privacy practices.

Sin una sesión iniciada, elimina la colección de invitado; las colecciones cifradas de cuentas desconectadas permanecen ocultas hasta que la misma cuenta vuelva a iniciar sesión. Conservamos identificadores mínimos de contenido, revisiones de eliminación e identificadores de reintento codificados para impedir que otro dispositivo sin conexión restaure elementos borrados. No contienen títulos, imágenes ni datos de contacto guardados. La eliminación posterior de la cuenta compartida también elimina esos metadatos. Borrar datos guardados de Summerville no elimina formularios enviados, eventos exportados al calendario ni datos del juego Azalea Island.

Eliminar cuenta de Azalea Island presenta una solicitud de eliminación permanente de la cuenta compartida de Local Robot y los datos asociados de Azalea Island, incluidos los datos de cuenta de Summerville. El proceso existente proporciona una referencia y tiene como objetivo finalizar en siete días; la aceptación no significa que la eliminación haya finalizado. Desconectar solamente cierra la sesión del dispositivo. Para solicitudes sobre formularios, registros conservados u otros datos, utiliza también los medios de contacto de la política principal.

Gestiona los permisos de ubicación y notificaciones en Ajustes de iOS. La selección de la guía y las acciones de cuenta están en los ajustes de la app. Las opciones de telemetría están en la atribución del mapa. Los boletines incluyen instrucciones para cancelar la suscripción. Las fuentes, sitios de negocios, solicitudes de adopción, anuncios inmobiliarios y páginas de entradas pueden pertenecer a terceros con prácticas de privacidad diferentes.
